Do the Scary Thing!

I used to tell myself I just needed a little more time.

A little more clarity.

A little more confidence.

And it sounded so valid. So grounded. Like I was being thoughtful and responsible. But if I am honest, it was fear. Quiet, disguised, convincing fear.

Because when you keep preparing and planning and waiting for the “right moment”, you stay in this subtle energy of not being ready. You keep reinforcing it without even realizing. You keep saying to yourself, not yet… not yet… not yet.

But something shifts the moment you do the scary thing. You take one small step. It is awkward. It is uncomfortable. Your heart is loud. But you do it. And that is where everything begins to change.

Because courage is not something that arrives before action. It is something that is built through action. Each step, no matter how small, creates a quiet proof within you. Proof that you can move forward even when fear is present. Proof that fear does not have to be the thing that decides your life.

Over time, those small steps begin to compound. What once felt terrifying starts to feel familiar. What once felt impossible begins to feel within reach. And without even noticing it, you find yourself standing in a version of you that you once thought you had to wait to become.

Courage is not granted. It is practiced.

So if you are standing at the edge of something that scares you, this is your reminder. You do not need to wait until you feel ready. You become ready by moving.

And sometimes, those “scary things” are quieter than we expect.

It looks like sending that email you have rewritten ten times and still have sitting in drafts.

It looks like sharing your design even when you are not sure if it is “good enough”.

It looks like putting your work out there without knowing who will receive it or how.

Pitching. Reaching out. Showing up.

Those small, uncomfortable actions are the bridge between where you are and where you want to be.

Not perfection. Not readiness. Just movement.

So maybe today, the scary thing is simple.

You press send.

You put it out there.

You begin.

Do the scary thing.

And then do the next small step after that.

That is how you change your energy. That is how you change your story.
